Works fine. It comes with 1/2 charge. Don't use it. Follow the instructions and give it that first long charge and it will work fine. I am in the country so a low tire can become a real issue. I just went out with the machine and topped off a low tire no problem. I had to try the electric because it goes out here from time to time. I plugged in a lamp and it ran for 6hrs. and 15 mins. And I am guessing it will run heat tape for 10 hrs or more. Important when you lose power at 10 below. And I feel confident if I have a low car battery this will work as advertised. Just to be able to get a car started at 5 in the morning and not be late for work is worth the purchase price. And the real reason I wanted it was for in the spring and during the summer for the lawn tractor. Every year at least one tire is low. And every year I get at least one slow leak 5 mins. before being done. This year I am ready.

I bought this item as a Gold Box deal and was somewhat doubtful how well it will work since it received below average reviews. But I decided to give it a shot and knowing that amazon has a great return policy, I knew there was nothing to lose. So once it came, I carefully followed and read the manual making sure to do what it says. It requires a good thorough charge of I believe 2 days (48hrs) and then after using it, it requires another 36hrs of a charge, which isnt bad assuming that it wont be used on a daily basis ofcourse. So after completely reading the manual, I left it charging but no later than 1 hour, it says that the charge was complete. I was kind of confused at this point because it need a charge of 2 days. But never the less, I left it charging for 2 days realizing that it probably only is carrying an hours worth of battery life. So now I tested it out by using the flash light and the computered voice says that it will last for 2 hours long on flash light mode, when it was suppose to last much longer than that. This is where I knew something wasn't right. I charged it again hoping it will do something different but with no success, I decided on returning it. The return was very easy, since it was a faulty device, UPS came to pick it up at my door and I opted to get another one because I wanted it to work. So once I received the other powerpack, it was the same and similar problem that it wouldn't carry a sufficient charge during the initial set up. Again, after the first charge, no more than 2 hours, it says it is fully charged but when I tested the air supply unit, it last for only an 1 hour when it was suppose to last for much longer than that. I heard that this device comes charged half way but when the instructions clearly state to give it an initial charge of up to 48 hours and it says that it is fully charged after an hour, I knew something was wrong. I tested it and still to no avail, it would not supply enough power and would not last long enough as mentioned in the manual book.

In the manual, it clearly states that when the powerpack is fully charged, using the flash light should last XX hours. Using the air supply should last XX hours, etc. I tested it and it didn't last as long as it should. Not worth my money.

So the only reason I am giving this two stars was because of the fast shipping. The only charger that worked out of the entire package for my galaxy precedent was the car charger. The wall charger barely charged my phone at all even after Long periods of time of being plugged in and the would freeze my phone causing me to have to take out the natter each time I used it. The USB cord is OK... for the most part but every once and awhile the same exact thing as the wall charger. The only one which doesn't cause me grief is the charger for the car. Which works every time. For $4 I wasn't expecting much however now ill need to find another wall charger

These are well-made and manufactured in USA!! There is not much to say about jumper cables, but some of the ones you see at automotive parts stores are pretty flimsy and the conductors look like they are significantly smaller than the gauge marked on the packages. These 6-gauge are suitable for cars with medium size batteries such as compacts or older models. For a new sophisticated car with lots of electronics and a big battery (BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, etc.), I suggest 4-gauge cables instead.

These cables are a good value. They work well enough if you're attaching them to automotive battery terminals; however, the jaws don't close together far enough to bite onto motorcycle/powersports type terminals, which limits their versatility.

These are long and heavy duty probably overkill for my 1.4L engine, but if you needed to jump a truck, they would be great. The whole assembly is well put together, with good, solid connections from the handles to the cables. They have worked great on a hybrid Highlander and Chrysler 300 (co-worker left the dome light on in the company car...).

If you don't have a lot of space though, skip this set since they are not small.

Even without any reviews here, this one fits the bill for me. After reviewing various Lightning chargers from Griffin, Kensington, and Belkin, I chose this one for a some key reasons.

2.1 AMP OUTPUT: This ensures I have the maximum electrical output available. FYI: 2.1 amps multiplied by 5 Volts DC = 10.5 watts, but labels will only show 10 watts

NO RING OF LIGHT: So many reviewers of products complained about the light ring feature being a distraction. This model features a simple round green LED light that is not much brighter than the console button lights in my car. I ended up twisting the light to the 3 o'clock position where the USB connector blocks my direct line-of sight to it. If I wanted to, a small piece of black electrical tape would cover the LED completely and easily since it is away from the USB connection. This is the 1 feature I valued to prefer it over the Belkin # F8J090bt04-BLK, which has the same power output and small form factor.

Is it cheap, no. But would I rather spend less and give up some these features.......no. I would have bought the version of this product less the 4' cord if a good coiled cord were available(I didn't like the Griffin coiled cord). Thanks for reading!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The iPhone wall outlet chargers are super-quick at charging. I have gone from 30% to 90% in about an hour. You get used to that kind of speed charging and this 2.1 AMP car charger give you exactly that! Initially, I scoffed at the price for these high AMP chargers and bought a 1 AMP car charger. Since my ride to work in less than 20 minutes, I would probably get 10% more charge off the 1 AMP charger, but with this 2.1 AMP charger, I manage to juice up about 25%. The really cool part of this charger is that I can pull out the USB cable and continue charging my phone via my laptop USB port.

The charger is well-designed and has a robust construction Apple worthy! The charger sits flush with my power outlet with just enough of it popping out to get an easy grip for removal. The charger does not have any edges, it blends well into the dash with only the distinctive green bezel being highlighted adds a little color to my drab dash. I also love the new low-profile negative (outer) terminal design. No more accidental snagging and ripping the terminal out of the charger. It also helps with a smoother insertion and removal from the power outlet.

The lightning connector is well designed and fits most cases without any issue (check images above)

Pros:

Since I upgraded to the iPhone 5, I only had to buy a Apple Lightning to USB Cable to keep using that one, which is 2.1 amps, like this one by Belkin.

After using the Belkin, I would say it is comparable to the Kensington charger, but it already comes with a Lightning to USB cable, so that may figure in one's comparison of their prices if one doesn't already have a cable.

In a 30 minute drive, my iPhone 5 increased in charge from 50% to 89% using the Belkin, for an average of 1.3% increase in charge per minute. This seems comparable to my former charger.

Either product is excellent, and the fact that they can charge any of the Apple products quickly, assuming you have the proper USB cables, is convenient.

Total f-in garbage. Not even worth the paltry six bucks it and the shipping will cost you. The USB adapter doesn't fit my Sansa Fuze, despite it being one of the compatible models listed. The AC adapter was broken on arrival because they didn't ship it in a box. The car adapter fell apart when I took it out of its package. This works with my SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Blue). I was so worried because of the bad review, but maybe some people ordered the wrong product?? It works just the way it is supposed to. I was a bit surprised that it is not as cheaply made as I thought it would be and at the speed of charge. So very happy I can power it up in my car & office! -And the extra cord is a lifesaver. AND I can use the wall & car chargers on anything with a USB cable. this is outback's top of the line solar charge controller. While a little pricy, it works as advertised. Wrings the most power from solar panels, and accepts voltages up to 150V. This allows use of much smaller wire for the run from the panels to the controller. The 10AWG wire I'm using cost a fraction of the 2AWG I would need without this feature. What I really love about this machine is that while it has incredible features and almost endless possible adjustments, I can just hook up 4 wires, tell it my battery is 12 volts, and I'm up and running. No fuss at all. Have three of these feeding the same battery bank, and will probably have a couple more as I add more solar panels to my off grid system. Temps here have been over 100 f. all week and the controllers haven't missed a beat. This product is worth the cost.

I currently run 22KW of Solar arrays on a totally off-grid farm currently with ~44KWH of battery storage.

I currently use 4 of OutBack FlexMax 80 charge controllers, and have done so for almost 3 years as of this review. In that time I've had no failures or erratic performance from any of these controllers. This system is extremely configurable, and it's MPPT algorithms do an excellent job of both squeezing every extra watt out of the feed panels, as well as taking excellent care of the battery arrays.

I'd give this more stars if I could.

There is no better charge controller so they say ... and the 4 I own give me no reason to believe any differently they deliver the amps above what my old PWM controllers did. The setup is automatic just hook-up and it figures out the critical details and just prods you to confirm the battery bank voltage & the language for the user interface. I've watched these closely for over a year now ... they are consistent and they perform.

On the downside ... if you do venture into the programming details adjustable values and such ... I don't think I've ever seen a worse user-interface. It's like they let some rooky programmer throw together a bunch of random screens the organization of the information does not seem logical ... I've been doing this stuff since the early 90's so I've seen plenty of other companies get this part right. But plenty get it wrong too, so hey ... Outback as a company has a little maturing to do when it comes to user interface design. I still love their product / work ... and love the artwork on the inside of some of their products.

The Steepower Micro USB Car Power Adapter is one of those perfect on-the-go car chargers for most people. Any device that uses a micro USB cord such as a Smartphone, MP 3 player, Kindle, or a digital camera can readily be charged. I especially like the built-in cable. No need to carry one along with you ... simply take the charger out of the glove box and you're good to go.

Another interesting thing is the fact that the micro USB spring cable, a full six feet in length, can uncoil and be used in the backseat of your vehicle. Car chargers are one of those gizmos most people have to have today. I've used several good ones, but the Steepower dual-port charger is one of the most innovative ones. It has a fixed cable with a micro-USB plug, plus a USB port for another cable (not included). The fixed cable is coiled, the first coiled cable that I've seen on a car charger, and a very nice touch that keeps the cable short but stretches to allow using a cellphone without first unplugging the cable. Each of the two ports provides up to one ampere, which is adequate to charge cellphones and tablets.

I tested the charger with my Kindle Fire HD 7" and my wife's iPhone 4. Both were about 50% charged when we left the house, and both were turned on. After a 45-minute drive, making a couple of calls with the iPhone and playing music from the Kindle Fire, both devices had recharged considerably even while being used.

This is a nice charger. It's solidly made and fit snugly but smoothly in the 12V outlet in the dashboard of my car. I was impressed with it enough that it's the power adapter that I'll keep in the car now.

Steepower® 12W / 2.1A Dual-Port Car Charger provides power for two devices at the same time. One device can be charged through built-in micro USB adapter, the second through a regular USB charging cable (not included). Each port provides 1A of power, the total combined current output for devices connected to this power adapter is 2.0A MAX.

I tested Steepower® 12W / 2.1A Dual-Port Car Charger with Nexus 7 Tablet (JellyBean 4.3) and Samsung Galaxy Nexus cell phone (JellyBean 4.2.2). I tested each on both ports, as well as both devices at the same time. The results were different on each port and now I plug them in only in one configuration which tested best. You will find the results of my tests in the table below.

I own several car chargers and run the same set on tests on each of them, so they can be compared to each other using "apples to apples" comparison. This set of tests allows me to provide unbiased results as the numbers speak for the performance of each unit. My methodology is to charge each mobile device on each port of the unit for 10 minutes and measuring how much each unit was charge in that 10 minute period. Each line in the table below represents a separate 10 minute test. I use Battery App by Elvison to determine how each device recognized the charging source. 'AC' status means the charging is at full charging rate. 'USB' status indicates charging at a lower charging rate. 'Discharging' status means that the charging rate is below the power that the device is consuming so it slows down the discharge rate but does not re-charge.

To test this Steepower car charger I ran my 10 minute test on Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus phone on each of the 2 ports as well as both devices at the same time. I also tested using both a both a data cable and a charging cable as I noticed that Nexus 7 did not charge at all with a data cable (this is not the case with all car chargers). The data cable was able to charge the phone so the cable itself is functional.

A quick note about the difference between a power cable and a data cable:

Charging cables short the two data connections together (rendering them useless for data transfer), but this fools devices to see them as an AC power connection, and thus accept the higher current of the charging source.

This car charger makes a good contact with the car's power port. It did not wobble or got dislodged during our weekend trip on a number of unpaved roads when it was used to power Nexus 7 serving as a GPS. Its weight is 2.1 oz, it is 3.375" long, and front of the plug is 1.125" in diameter. The coiled cable is 22" (unstretched).

This car charger worked very well. The phone worked best using the built-in cable and the tablet worked best using the charging cable. Since I did not expect the "best" port to be different between the two I re-run my tests several times and the results remained consistent.

I received a review sample from the manufacturer and, frankly, expected another variation on a common car charger. How wrong I was.

Specs first: this charger has a fairly wide operating range of 10 to 16 volts DC for input and outputs 5 volts at 1 amp on the aux port and the cable (that is 1000 milliamps per the markings on the body). This easily charges my Samsung Galaxy Note II, which I connect to the cable and my friend's iPhone 4S (or her iPad when she brings it along) via the aux USB port. Each port outputs the 1000 mA, unlike some chargers that will split the output giving each device 500 mA. The micro USB end flawlessly inserts into my phone, which is something my previous charger did not. Indeed, the previous charger's micro USB plug has slightly distorted the phone's power port from poor tolerances.

Right out of the box the first thing I looked for was the weak link in every other changer I've owned: the nut that holds the spring loaded tip and fuse assembly in place. On others the nut covers the entire barrel of the portion that plugs into the lighter socket and typically has coarse threads that will inevitably back off. When that happens the fuse, tip and spring will fly in different directions and this has happened more than once. Not so this. That assembly is housed in a separate assembly that is screwed into the body. It's practically impossible to come loose on its own, but still makes it relatively easy to change the fuse if ever you need to do that.

The body of the device is solid and hefty. More importantly, it inserts and removes easily from my lighter socket, and the housing on the end for the second USB port is solid. In fact, the port is well designed and made because some ports even on computers and other devices require a little fumbling (and sometimes cursing) to insert the cable connector. This one does not exhibit that problem.

Finally the cable, probably the most important part of this charger, is

heavy-duty. In the past some of my chargers actually picked up my ignition system firing because of cheap cables and the fact that my car has a lot of radio frequency activity from the bluetooth connection to an FM retransmitter. This cable is ultra quiet and does not pick up external signals. If there is one complaint it's the cable is a tad too stiff. I have to exert a little more pull to extend it, but in the overall scheme of things that is a very minor complaint.

Bottom line: this charger is a keeper and I am betting that it will long outlast the others that I have used most of which fall apart of fail in some way after four to six months. This one is truly the Rolls-Royce of chargers.

This charger appears of great quality and functions as it should. Individually, the coil cable and the separate USB charging port can provide up to 1A of power each. I find this light useful and the dull nature of the light helps to keep it from being too bright during nighttime driving.

Over that last couple days of use, I have found the charger to work great with my Android phone, and have had no issues charging my Asus Nexus 7 at the same time. I have really grown to appreciate the permanently attached charging cable. The spare USB charging port allows me to charge my MP4 Player or GPS at the same time making it really versatile.

Overall, I think the Steepower® 12W / 2.1A Dual-Port Car Charger is a great charger, perfect for those who own devices that charge via Micro-B (most Amazon Kindle and Kindle Fire devices, most Android Devices, and so on). The additional USB charging port leaves room to share with passengers or whenever you need to charge two devices at once. This product is priced right and is a really good buy.

Last night my new iPhone 3GS touch screen started acting up. Couldn't get sliding working and I couldn't hit any keys or buttons like attempting to hit "A" would cause "G" to be pushed. Couldn't power off, because I couldn't get the slide to work! Then realized I had the new power charge plugged in. I unplugged, and voila: everything back to normal. Obviousy the charger is running to high voltage or current

This charger is not coming close to my iPhone again!

Car charger and cable appears to work OK, but that is not much of consolidation if the regular charger blows up your iPhone.

The price on this item seemed to good to be true. Three different chargers for the 3G iPhone for ten bucks? Happily, all of the cables work as advertised, and I love not having had to pay $30 for ONE official Apple charger.

I ordered this product. I only got a wall charger and a car charger. The wall charger only works sometimes. The car charger appears to work. However, I've not spent enough time using the car charger to say it works as advertised confidently.

Dissapointed in product and cannot reccomend. Should have purchased a higher quality product.

I mounted this product on the post of a shelf that holds spare batteries. Over time our spares would discharge. Keeping them on a charger was a total mess with wires in a rat's nest. Now we can just walk by and see that the lights are all the way to green. Even new batteries take an initial charge, which is to be expected since there is no telling when they were actually filled with acid. Another incredible use is keeping 12 volt gel cells charged. The charger comes with two 10' extension cords. (All cords have polar connectors for the charger end so you can't plug them in wrong.) I took one of the extension cords and split the wires apart every foot for six inches. Then folded the wires back and put a nylon tie around the wires where the split ended at both points. This gave me nine loops of split wires. I could have split the entire 10' length but that would have made the end result messier and more likely to tangle. At the mid point of each loop I clipped a 3M T Tap connector over both the red and the black wires. T Tap connectors just snap over a wire, insulator and all, and then allow a blade connector to be plugged in. The exact same blade connectors that the T Tap connectors are designed to accept are on 12 volt gel cell batteries. So with our modified charger extension cord we can now maintain the charge on nine gel cell batteries at the same time. The charger only comes with 2 battery clips and 2 battery eyelet connectors. I was unable to use the eyelet connectors, so I could only charge 2 batteries at the same time. I contacted customer service to see if they would exchange the eyelet connectors for clips, and they responded that they do not make exchanges. They said I needed to purchase 2 clips in order to charge 4 batteries. For the price of this charger, they should include four of each, or, give you a choice of connectors when you purchase.

I like that I can charge batteries of different types at one time. This is a very slow charger at 4.4 amps, so if you need a quick charger, look elsewhere. I leave this charger on my boat batteries whenever the boat is parked. I have one glass mat battery (Optima red top) and one deep cycle battery. Overall, this product works really well, especially if you have an over-night period when you can charge batteries.

Interesting little device. Voltmeter is .22 VDC high, no adjustment available. Sample time for DVM is a little slow. Using to keep 100 A/Hr battery "topped off" with two solar panels. Max charging current so far is around 4 Amps which the unit handles very well, no apparent heating, no electrical noise generated. Have it diode isolated and in parallel with AC charger and they both are functioning nicely. Only thing to change would be a terminal strip vs. wires included and adjustment for DVM. The box itself could be rectangular instead of the curved thing it comes in. Would make mounting a lot easier.

A year later.

Have had this in my travel trailer for over a year. Solar panels are rated at 100 watts. Battery is a telecomm battery designed for sitting around on a charger then providing, in this case, up to 100 Amps for about 20 hours when needed. The trailer has not been connected to AC since panels/battery/charge controller installed. The panels have provided enough power and the controller has kept the battery at 13.8 volts the whole time. The max charge current I have seen so far has been about 6 Amps. Not bad for the Pacific North-west.

I have looked inside the controller. The switching devices are wired like MOSFETs and they look like they would max out at 10 Amps. Part numbers on the devices are in-house numbers and impossible to find. I would limit this unit to no more than what I have it doing. i.e., 100 Watt panels. That would keep the charge current at around 8 Amps max.

Recently purchased the Sunforce model 60031 (digital) and very pleased with features that work as described in description. I'm sure my warranty is void now, however was able to open the case and drill a small hole right where the sun icon is located on the front panel (case removed first) and this is the location where the float charge "cut-in" adjustment is made. The trimmer on the right side of the PC board is for adjusting the digital display against a accurate input voltage. Again note, you will be on your own if you open the case.

This Sunforce charge controller was bought as a component for my solar generator and at first, I wasn't sure it was going to work because other charge controllers are more expensive and this one had 10amps. Turns out i had nothing to worry about because the Sunforce can handle my 12 volt system. I was able to mount it straight to the battery box with some nuts and bolts and the fittings that go to the battery were exactly the size I needed.. I'm using n 80W micro-crystalline panel and so far, the controller is delivering a steady and fast charge to my battery. My 110 amphour battery gets charged back from 25% to 100% in about 6 hours. The indicator lights are easy to read and the liquid crystal voltage readout is accurate. The readout only uses 10ma which is good because it stays on all the time.

Here's the fun part. We made a modification on the connections by using a 15 amp 125-Volt 2-Pole Polarized Light-Duty Plug on the panel, and a 15 amp 125-Volt Light-Duty Plug on the controller's input wires. This makes it a snap, literally, to hook up and unhook the generator box from the solar panel so I can roll it inside the house.

Very pleased with this product as I'm sure you will be.

First one wouldnt keep the batteries in float charge, caused the batteries to cycle between float and bulk continously. The second one the display did not work out of the box, third one is off by .5 volts in the meter. I will try and fix this one as it appeares to function properly otherwise. There is supposed to be an adjustment inside.

I purchased this in conjunction with a solar panel to keep a charge on the 12 volt batter in my camper. It came packaged nicely and the instructions, while not overly verbose, seemed adequate to the task as there are only 2 wires (each with a negative and a positive terminal) to connect. The wires that connect to the battery are clearly marked positive and negative, so it was easy to figure out which goes where. As for the wires that connect tot he solar panel, one is marked with a red band (indicating it is the positive connection) and the other, by default, the negative. I thus connected it in this fashion and nothing happened. It was as if the solar panel was not seeing any daylight. My first thought was the solar panel was not seeing enough sunlight, however my trusty voltmeter connected to the solar panel quickly proved this wrong the panel was generating close to 20 volts DC (which is what one would expect of this panel in moderate sunlight). I reconnected, and still no luck the charge controller would not charge. In fact, it did not even indicate the presence of the solar panel. Ordinarily I would have returned it at that point, but I needed the controller for a week long camping trip I was leaving on in 2 days, and could not get a replacement in time (I tried believe me). As a last ditch effort, I reversed the positive and negative wires coming out of the charge controller and connected to the solar panel, and voila it worked. So long story short, the wires were mismarked at the manufacturer.

Having made that change, the controller has since worked as expected. So only 3 stars for the mismarked wires.
