Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Portable USB chargers like the Duracell Mygrid Charger are very popular. I myself own a Mophie Juice Pack Reserve and it has been a lifesaver many times.

The Duracell Mygrid USB Charger allows you to carry extra power for USB chargeable devices. It comes with attachments for both standard and micro USB charging, but can be adapted for others as long as you have a USB cord.

Once I received it I plugged it into my laptop and allowed it to charge; this is why the Mygrid Charging Pad is not necessary for use. After it had charged fully I decided to test it out on my Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device first which had about half of it's battery life left. After plugging it in I could see the "charge" indicator on my Kindle light up and I left it for about an hour. When I came back to check on it, the indicator had gone from orange to green; the sign of a full charge success!

The next test (again after charging up the Duracell charger) was on my iPhone. Because the iPhone charger is specific to Apple you will need the original white charger cord to use this. This time my phone was near dead when I started the charging and because I was curious about exactly how long this one would take to charge I kept a better eye on it. Normally on the wall charger it takes about 90 minutes for a full charge. At just about 107 minutes my phone registered as fully charged and that was good as the Duracell charger was nearly depleted.

Overall I can definitely recommend this, especially knowing that there is no need to invest in the additional Charging Pad. Unless of course you would like to do so for re-charging convenience or use with several chargeable items. Because of it's compact size, this is a great "emergency" power supply to carry for your cell phone and it will be appreciated if the need for it arises.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really did not think I would use this as much as I have. First, as others have said, I do not have the Duracell myGrid Cell Phone Starter Kit and it works just fine without it.

I own a LG Touch and get very poor reception with the device. If I need to send photos, which is a lot, it drains the battery trying to get a signal. All I have to do is plug my cell phone into the `battery' and it charges it up. Also, it comes in handy when I am out and about and not near my cell phone wall charger or near my car. I can charge my phone right in my purse!

One thing I love, I charge the battery part from the USB port of my laptop computer which I keep in the living room. I keep my cell phone charger in the bedroom. Once the battery is fully charged I can just plug my cell phone into the micro USB cable that comes with it to charge up my cell phone. Lazy, yes, but it works.

I love this device and keep it around since it is so handy. I know a lot of other devices it will work with and know I will get a lot of use out of it.

Updated on Feb 10, 2011. I wanted to add that I found the best use for the device last night. My power went out in the middle of the night and it was below freezing outside and snowing. The power was out for several hours and I was trying to call the power company from my cell phone and also my mother to make arrangements in case my child needed to be transported to a warmer location. I was on hold with the power company forever. My mother said "save the power on your cell phone". I then told her it was no biggie, I had a charged battery to plug into it just in case. I never knew how important this device would be until last night. It is a lifesaver in a power outage.

Now, the box and even here on Amazon it says that you MUST HAVE the Mygrid charging pad to use this gizmo. Not true. Thanks to the supplied cord, you can plug this guy into any USB port on your computer or laptop or USB hub and it will take a charge.

When travelling, I've used an old 4 AA battery charger pack for emergency charging of small electronics. (Particularly of use when watching your own movies on your iPhone or iPod while on a plane.) Those battery packs aren't as sleek and lightweight as you'd hope.

So, I did my own head-to-head comparison of this Mygrid USB charger versus a 4 AA emergency power pack on a depleted iPod Touch.

-Size & weight: the Duracell Mygrid USB charger is smaller and lighter. Result: Mygrid is the hands down winner.

-Portability: I never travel without my laptop, so the Mygrid can be recharged over and over easily; without having to buy new batteries. Again, the Mygrid wins.

-Recharge time: My old 4 AA charger pack recharged the iPod 15% faster than the Mygrid. Point: AA charger

-Recharge completeness: Both fully recharged the iPod. Result: tie.

The results were about the same on my iPhone and my wife's Blackberry.

However, as one aside: to fully charge my iPhone and iPod, the Mygrid completely discharged; it was dead after charging just one. The 4 AA battery pack had enough juice to charge the iPod and my wife's Blackberry before it nearly conked out. (Yeah, after BOTH, it still had some juice... good batteries help with this!)

Overall, I'm happy with this charger. If you're bringing your laptop or one of those 120volt to USB wall chargers, the Mygrid will serve you well while traveling. It's a permanent addition to my carry-on bag.

Kinda a silly purchase for me as I could just charge my phone via my computer or charger. But as they add more charging adapters, and I have a lot of USB devices that I charge via my computer, this is a really nice addition to the Mygrid.

Just plug the device into this charger, lay on the Duracell mat and it charges with ease. Kinda nice to charge multiple items at once ( iPhone and USB device ) on the Mygrid and I like having different places to charge my most used electronics. It also seems to charge my USB items like my Vido camcorder and my fitness tracker faster then using my computer power. Nice addition for me!

I use this 1-2 times per month, and have been surprised by how handy it is. It takes about 90 min to charge from empty, and will power-up an iPhone in about 2 hours from empty to at least 80 percent battery power. I also use it to charge my BlackBerry and Kindle (micro-USB attachment is included; for iPhone, you just use your own iPhone/iPod cable and plug into the USB end of this unit).

This is hugely convenient for long airplane rides, waiting rooms, etc. It's also very small -smaller than a deck of cards -light, and easy to carry.

I absolutely love it. One of the best impulse buys I've had on Amazon (and there have been many).

I bought this battery to replace the one on my Honda Ruckus. It is half the size and probably a quarter of the weight of the stock battery, I read somewhere you lose almost 5 lbs (which is important on small engine machines!). I have added a LED tail light and blinkers and the stock battery seemed to really struggle with the added power needed, this battery starts up strong and it seems to have plenty of power to handle the upgraded lights. I have only had it for a few days so it is hard to say if it will hold up or not.

Lightweight, easy to use...what more can you ask for? This is my first solar charger, so I was a bit hesitant on which one to order. I finally went with this one because it said that it would also charge my laptop. I don't know if it will do that (next item to try), but it definitely charges my Walkman and Kindle. My only (very minor) gripe is that the instructions seem to have been cut off or they forgot to complete their information. The booklet tells you that there are 4 ways to charge the charger. 1: solar power (no kidding! lol) 2. USB (ok) and then...nada. Obviously, plugging it in is another choice, but there aren't any adaptors for that. So, so I used my Amazon Kindle cord w/adaptor (to change the USB to one for an electrical outlet) and then attached the appropriate plug for the device. The booklet said it would take around 4.5 hours to charge, but it was much, much faster than that.

Update: the charger does NOT have enough power for my laptop, but I don't want to downgrade the rating for that. It works well for the smaller items, so next time I'll know to check the actual rating on power provided and what's needed for a particular item(sry, but I don't know the tech terms). I would definitely buy this item again.

This is my second Kiwi charger. I lost my first one when I placed it on my parked car during a folk festival, then forgot it when I drove off! I missed it so much I bought this second one. It works very well. I leave it in my car which I usually park facing South. I charge my iPhone mostly but can also use it for the iPad. It's very portable and a good conversation starter. I have a Prius and my friends ask if that's what charges the car! Using the device to recharge small electronics just feels like the right thing to do.

A friend and I both purchased one of these. Mine never worked it won't charge with a cord or in the sun I have called customer service since its covered for a year but I am always forced to leave a message and no one calls me back. My friend's worked for a little while until the solar panel and white plastic casing melted in the sun. You are supposed to leave it in the sun in order for it to charge. How is it that the plastic is that cheap? My friend's also didn't hold a charge for as long as the description states it needed constant charging. Very dissatisfied with this item.

I really liked the concept of this solar charger, but the product itself leaves a lot to be desired.

Pros: convenient three panel design; not much bigger than a cell phone; the built-in flashlight is a bonus

Cons: Completely warped in low heat sun; takes at least five days to fully charge; full charge is only enough to charge my phone about 5%

I left it outside on a picnic table in full sun (springtime in Ohio, around 70 degrees) and by the third day, the plastic on the charger was so warped that it wouldn't close properly. When closed, there is almost a full inch gap at the top between the first and second panels. I wasn't too worried about it at that point because it wouldn't effect the functionality of it.

On the fifth day, when all four blue lights were finally lit up, I used the provided adapters to plug in my Evo 4G. Fifteen minutes later, none of the four lights on the Kiwi would light (the charge was completely gone), and my phone hadn't charged enough to even be noticeable.

I hoped that it was because it was the first use, so I tried again, but three days later, in mostly full sun, only one of the blue lights is lit, and the warped plastic is getting much worse.

I expected much more than a 5% charge for my phone from five days worth of sun, and I expected a product made to gather sunlight would be able to withstand the springtime mid-western sun.

At best, it's just a warped, expensive flashlight. I guess I'll just have to try another brand, and I recommend you do the same.

This product has revived 3 batteries so far! The batteris would only hold 4.4 volts or so at first and then after a while on this thing they are holding 6.5V+ The only thing that is an issue is that the automatic "desulphation" button doesn't work unless the batteries have over 5.5 or so volts. To bypass this i wire a good battery in with the old one to get the charger to "see" enough voltage to go into desulphation mode, then i will disconnect the good battery and let this thing work away. So far I feel it has been a great investment.

This is the second BatteryMINDer I own, I wouldn't part with either.

The first one I purchased was the 12 volt charger. I swap between mower/boat batteries throughout the winter months. When spring arrives and its time to start mowing, I simply reinstall the batteries and they are fully charged ready to go.

I purchased a 6 volt version for the 1952 Ferguson TO30 tractor this fall. My 6 volt tractor battery was tested when at 10 below zero I had to move the tractor, it started without hesitation.

I never used this 6v model (purchased as a gift) but have 3 other battery minder systems for garage use, a truck, and a trailer. I have not had a battery need replacement in years and expect my batteries will last almost forever.

Received it and got it hooked up to my Model A battery. Apparently I had the leads reversed, as switching them made the correct light appear. After the 24-hr or so mentioned in the manual, the green light began blinking, indicating all is well.

This is an excellent grease gun! I run heavy equipment on road work. Greasing up to 30 fittings a day and sometimes 2 tubes of grease a day. My other Alemite is 2 years old and no problems. We have about 12 or so of these grease guns and I haven't heard any complaints. Except from people who don't have one. Also the mechanics in the shop have these and they get used year around in our trailer and equipment shop. My only complaint would be that the auto charger listed does not charge the new style batteries. It does fit my old one so I will keep it. The Alemite site does not list one, but the owners manual shows one is available.

I farm and we use a lot of grease. We had Lincoln cordless grease guns before and had been pretty happy with them, but seemed like the batteries would not ever last very long. Then saw a neighbor bought an Alemite cordless grease gun and he said how much more grease came out every time it pumped. So i tried it and it will put out twice the grease my Lincoln did so i bought one. The batteries will last three times longer than the Lincolns and it does not take near as long to grease equipment. the tip locks on to the fitting so grease actually goes were its supposed to go. simply put this is the best one. the battery lasts a long time and only takes an hour to recharge. and this kit came with 2. you cant ask for anything more.

This little guy is GREAT. The shape allows it to sit in your cup holder out of the way unlike the bigger odd-shaped ones that fly all over the place while you're driving.

This device is perfect for road trips. It handled my laptop and cell phone charger at the same time, and the USB port let me charge my iPod too. The plug fit just fine, and the low-power alarm is quite effective.

The only bummer is when you have a real cup of coffee and no where to put it...

This worked for maybe 20 minutes, but after that, any time I so much as plugged this unit into the car's outlet, the car's fuse would immediately blow (even with nothing plugged into the inverter).

The concept is great, having a place to put the inverter that is convenient and doesn't dangle or shift around, yet also isn't a big device that has to plug right into the accessory outlet (which isn't always placed to facilitate a device like this, and also precludes being able to simultaneously use the outlet to power anything else.) And enough people have left good reviews that I assume they're not all so prone to quick failure. Nevertheless, I will not buy another PowerLine. I previously had the PowerLine 0900-36A which also failed (though I did get more than 20 minutes out of it). So I just don't consider them reliable, and I don't know how long other reviewers have had their units.

Luckily, there are numerous other cup-holder-sized inverters to choose from, just do an amazon search for "inverter cup"

UPDATE: I purchased the Black & Decker PI100CB. It only has one outlet instead of two, but at least so far, it's working perfectly. It is possible that the Powerline failed quickly because of a design flaw other reviewers have noticed... the Powerline needs air around the fan toward the bottom of the unit and that air flow will generally get blocked once the device is actually placed in a cup holder, possibly leading to overheating and failure. The Black and Decker has a clever design which solves this problem. It comes with a rubber insert that goes in your cup holder, and the device in turn goes into the rubber insert. The smart thing is that the rubber insert itself is designed to make sure air flow to the device's fan is not blocked.

But the instructions say to not cover any of the vents while in use. That makes putting the inverter into your cup holder (as it was seemingly made for) a big no-no. The bottom of the cup is filled with vents and you can feel air blowing out when it's in use. So, they market this cool inverter that fits into your cup holder, but then give instructions that discourage you from putting it into your cup holder.....

When I put it into my cup holder, the light ended up turning red, meaning it was turning itself off.

Used this inverter once so far. Clever design. I was hoping I might be able to leave it in the car, maybe stick a disk of paper on the top to hide the outlets, and thieves would think it was just a coffee cup, but the white cord sticking out the back near the top makes that hard to pull off. Still, I love the design. Charging my shaver and my iPod at the same time was no problem, and the fan did not come on, at least not audibly. Will have to try some higher powered devices and see what happens. I have some concern, like others have, that tucking it into a tight cup holder will not leave enough breathing room for the bottom vents, but with the fan not even turning on for my typical uses, I'm not too concerned. If it ends up being an issue, I can always stick a small piece of wine cork on the bottom to give it some additional space. The 12V plug has a two-position switch to adjust the tightness of its fit in the socket, a nice touch.

UPDATE: recently when my iPhone was nearly dead, the USB port on this device appeared to not be able to charge it. After 30 minutes of charging, I still had the iPhone displaying a red "depleted battery" graphic. The graphic normally goes away within 10 minutes of initiating charging. Subsequent tests using the Apple iPhone 3G AC adapter in the inverter's 110V outlet, then the USB iPhone cable in the AC adapter, exhibited no problems. Either the 500mA provided via USB is not enough, or the iphone is picky about its USB power source. There is some info on the web suggesting the iPhone is just picky. Google "iPhone reference voltage"

I purchased four of these for use in my photography workshops, with the thought of buying eight more.. The transmission quality is excellent, but on three of the four, the push-to-talk button either stopped working altogether or required great pressure to activate, and is sporadic in its function. I bought these to keep track of my 10 year old son after having several moments of him wandering off or getting lost at amusement parks or festivals. These work great! When we go somewhere I give him one and I keep one. The idea is whenever (or if) we get seperated all I have to do is talk to him through these radios and I can then find him. I haven't had to use them to locate him yet though, but we do communicate through them all the time. We use them when he goes outside in the neighborhood. I can ring him up whenever I want to know what he is doing or when it is time to come home. He can "call" me whenever he has a question for me or wants to check in.

The range is great and I can understand him the vast majority of the time. These have really helped me feel better about him playing around the neighborhood. How great is it to be able to call him to come home rather than walking or riding around the neighborhood for several minutes to tell him to come home. I also know he has these if he gets into any trouble or gets injured and needs me so there is a big safety/security benefit to having these. I can see so many uses for these little radios. Hiking, camping, hunting, anywhere that there are large numbers of people and you want to stay in contact with someone, and last but not least--to us mothers or fathers that want to have some peace-of-mind. Also a good cheap alternative to a cell phone (which my son wanted and I told him NO) I highly recommend these radios!

I have used my Talkabouts out on the lake, while hunting, and while out in the shop. I left them behind when I went skiing (BIG MISTAKE!), and found myself NEEDING them constantly. Handy features include: Can choose whether or not to send a chirping noise when press talk button (default to on but can turn off when it becomes ANNOYING; button to send a "ring" to tell other person(s) to pick up; many channels to choose from. I always get clear reception, although I have never used them in a city so I can't vouch for that scenario.

Bought these for deer hunting in WI. Have a good range, decent sound clarity, and pretty good battery life. I hunt in a pretty traditional deer camp, so there was a lot of speculation on the part of my hunting partners to having radios in the woods. To be honest, I was too. By the end of the season we were all sold on the benefits. If you're thinking about it but not quite sure, take the plunge. It makes your hunt much more productive. Even if you only turn them on for a few minutes each hour to check in, it helps a lot to know where your hunting crew is to coordinate movement in the woods. For the price, you can't go wrong
