I got one a few years ago and now I need another for my second bike. These come with a good long cord and it is made from good rubber so you can step on it without damage. The connector you put on the bike is made from same tough stuff and it has ring lugs already. They really made this for Bikes or Lawn tractors. The connector is easy to undo and cover with the cover on a tether attached to cord on bike. Even if cover comes off, the positive is still completely covered so no fear of shorts unless you let the cord get into the chain or lay against an exhaust pipe. The charger will do a 6v battery as well. I mounted a power strip on wall and I tie wrap the Xciter cubes to the strip. These have 3 LEDs showing 1) it on, 2) its charging a low battery, and 3) battery is charged so it is float charging the batterymaintaining. By the way, using one of these will really stretch the life you get from a lead acid battery. The acid in a battery starts sulfating the lead plates when the plate doesn't have an electrical chargeso keeping a charge on them will make them live.

We have three Save A Battery chargers for different purposes. They Work! Our golf cart batteries were in tough shape and this charger did the trick. If there is a negative, it would be that the charger can take a while to do the job because its not a big power monster like a factory charger. For maintaining batteries, this is the way to go. There is an included battery terminal connector that you put on the batteries making the charger a quick connect. Great!

My Garmin Nuvi 750's battery would not hold a charge. If you check the Gamin website you'll find they don't sell battery replacements. I guess they expect us to buy new Garmins. I wanted to look at the battery before buying this kit, but was unable to find the right size star-screwdriver. This kit comes with a screwdriver, prying tool, battery, and CD that shows you how to replace the battery. It was easy to replace the battery and now my Garmin's battery can hold a charge. This kit is definately worth the money!

Received the kit and installed the battery today. This part of my review will be only on the kit and installation of the battery since I have not had time to do a real duration test of it. Therefore, this portion of my review will not cover the life of the battery.

The kit came with two screw drivers: a Philips head and a star head. The screws on my 750 were star-head, so there must be some out there with Philips head ones.

The DVD that came with the kit is adequate and basic but could have covered a few additional issues, hence the four star rating. The first was the difficulty of getting the back off the GPS unit. The kit comes with a plastic pry tool that you use to remove the back after removing the screws; however, the back on mine was a lot more difficult to remove than the one in the video. After about four or five tries, it finally yielded and came off. Removing the actual battery was also a lot more difficult than shown in the DVD because of the double-sided tape holding it in. The DVD demo showed the old battery merely falling out. Some reviewers remarked that there was no mention of double-sided tape being required for the new battery [the piece on the old battery would not come off it] because it would rattle around inside the GPS without it. Since the tape I had would have been very difficult to remove if it prevented the back from being replaced, I decided to try it without the tape first. As it turns out, I didn't need the tape at all; the new battery fit snugly in. Therefore, I recommend trying it without the tape first.

The new battery came about two-thirds already charged, and I re-charged it for about two hours to the four-bar level. I then ran a two-hour simulated trip, and it was back to about two-thirds. At the time of this writing, it has been on for about two hours and forty-five minutes and is down to about half charged.

I fully charged the battery [overnight] and ran a 4-1/2 hour simulated trip. At the end, there was still some charge left so I left it on. It lasted an additional 20 minutes for a total of 4 hours 50 min.

I was leaving on vacation when my Nuvi 750 died in the car. I was forced to replace it with a newer model because we were driving about 6000 miles. Since I really missed some of the now discontinued 750's features I ordered this replacement battery kit as soon as I got home. The kit arrived quickly. The tools were simple and the video was easy to understand. I think they could have mentioned how the original battery is stuck in really tightly using double-sided tape. The actual replacement was very easy after the battery was "unstuck". Saddly enough the new battery didn't seem to hold a charge. I was miffed and contacted Innovate88 (via email through Amazon) expecting a hassle but they couldn't have been nicer. They immediately apologized and sent another battery which has been working just fine. I really liked the fact that everything you need to change the battery is included along with the cd to visually see how to do it. It would be helpful if they would also include some type of double stick tape to hold the battery in place. Being a crafter, this was something I already had on hand. The light comes on that it is charging the GPS unit but when you unplug it, the unit has not been charged. Left it overnight twice, to find it in the morning not charged... thankfully my phone charger was compatible with the GPS unit pluggin and so I was able to charge it in that manner.

I have a Honda CRV and have NO idea why a product specifically designed to have a phone charged in your car wouldn't fit. It was a complete waste of money. Was pretty happy with the price of the charger only cost me about 3$ with shipping included. The charger was made of a cheap plastic, but it still did the job. After about a month it would turn my Droid off. I did not think too much about it because after about two days of this happening, the charger completely stopped charging and would not light up anymore. You pay for what you get for.

So far, so good. Was received in small, easily opened packaging, nothing big and bulky. This solar charger is nice because it has a big backup battery. I use mine for my iPhone 4 and my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

With iPhone:

I get around 3 charges to my iPhone when this battery is at 100%. Usually I get it to 100% using the USB cable, but when I'm not next to power, or if I'm feeling environmental, I charge in the sun. It's practical to get a full iPhone charge after leaving in the sun for about 5 hours.

Solar Charging: I've used this on the dashboard, at the beach and at Coachella 2012!!!!! All instances had mixed results. I found that having this on my blanket at the beach for around 4 hours got two bars, which ended up giving me about 90% boost to my iPhone 4 and then some. On my dashboard it gets to 4 bars if I leave it there for 2 days, but I don't usually do that. It seems like the dashboard ALMOST fully charges it, but I can tell its probably actually at about 90% full at about 10+ hours of dahsboard time. At Coachella I had this thing on the carabiner on my backpack and was moving around all day. It gave me about 60% charge to my iPhone when I needed it(at nigth). I think I was in the sun for about 5-6 hours, but moving around a lot.

With Galaxy Tab 10.1: It give around 40% charge to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which I've used on the airplane for back up power. I charge the tab with POWER OFF so it can give more juice. 40% to the tab is a few hours of extra video/games/etc, so its definitely cool for a boost.

Using USB charging: If you connect it to your computer, it seems like 6 hours is the right amount of time to get 4 bars full. I've used it with my iPhone charger too, and it seemed like 4-5 hours. Either way, just check the status using the big button.

Flashlight: I haven't needed this BUT ONCE. I was checking my oil at night and had this handy. One REALLY COOL thing was that the battery was at 0%. No reaction to pressing the flashlight. THEN, I left it in sunlight for literally 1 minute to see if the light got any power. Sure enough the LED flashlight lit up for about 30 seconds before dimming. I think LED lights are low power, but WOW thats a pretty fast charge. More of justa fun experiment for my use, but it could be cool for camping(says 36 hours of light off a full charge/not tested by me)

Sorry if my review was all over the place, but I hope some of this helps. I've used this thing to give boosts to my friends' phones and their immediate reaction was that this is a cool gadget. Also, I got some intriguing glances at the beach and security line at Coachella. It's definitely an eye catcher, but best of all it comes through for me when i need it. I ahve to be honest, I use it most by charging it by USB, then carrying it for power to use later, but having the option of solar is great AND it works. It feels nice, looks nice, works nice, price is good, accessories like the suction cups and carabiner are cool. All in all, nice product. Let's see how long it lasts...

I was looking for a solar recharger for long bike rides and hiking/camping/mountaineering etc. This works great! When I got it, I fully charged it using USB as recommended, and then tried to fully drain it. I charged my phone, iPod, and finally had to hook up my MotoACTV and let it run with Bluetooth and GPS enabled. Amazing capacity on this thing!

It is a bit difficult to actually fully charge this thing on solar alone, but it does well enough to charge up my phone and MotoACTV at the end of the day. The included locking biner is a nice touch. It isn't climbing spec, but it is a lot lighter than a climbing locker.

And a note on customer serviceThis comes with a protective film on the panel. I went to take it off, and the top was actually tucked under the case. I thought maybe it was supposed to be permanent and I screwed up trying to remove it, so I emailed support. I had a response in minutes. I wrote later asking about additional panels, and again, a response in minutes.

Final noteit comes with a part for hooking up additional panels, and the manual states you can buy additional panels, but they don't actually make the panels yet (as of 6/13/12).

Alright, let's get what you're thinking out of the way first: you think this thing looks flimsy and will break the first chance it gets, or it won't work period. Wrong.

That's what I though after taking it out of the box. Its a light unit, it does not feel like there is a battery/electronics in there at all. But this thing works beautifully! Some of the reviews mention that it takes hours for the unit to solar charge, and that it might melt if you leave it on your dashboard in the sun. Not true. I live in Georgia. The summers here are HOT. Getting in your car after leaving it in the July sun is like climbing into your oven at home. On a recent day trip I left the charger on my car's dashboard in the July sun, and it had charged to full during the two hours I was gone from my car. And it did not melt into my dashboard.

On another day trip my Droid Razr was dying (poor battery life is the norm for that phone), and I simply pulled the charger from my pack, plugged in my Micro USB cable, and put the battery unit in the pocket of my shorts along with my phone. It didn't feel clunky or anything, and it charged my phone. What more can you ask for?

This is a great charger for the money, especially when you compare it to other solar batteries like the GoalZero ones. I'm sure they work just as well, but IMO they are way too expensive for what they do.

Some other little tidbits I'll offer:

-I've charged this unit by plugging the special (included) USB cable into a Kindle power Adapter and one of the mini Apple power adapters, and both charged it perfectly.

-Its small, so it fits in a backpack, purse, or pocket really easily.

-I have not tried this yet, but you can add additional solar panels to improve the battery's charge time when charging from the sun. Out of the box the battery comes with a hook dealie you attach to the side, then attach to the extra solar panel.

-The case itsself is made of a good, solid plastic which can take some abuse. I would try to keep the solar panel away from any situations which could damage it, but it should be okay handling day-to-day usage (i.e. keeping it in a cluttered bag with all kind of pointy things).

The product itself is nice. Good capacity, good size, decent build quality. There are two ways to charge it solar and plug-in. The plug-in method is the fastest, and it is designed to plug into a standard USB port. HOWEVER, they use a somewhat propitiatory plug to go from the USB port to the actual reVIVE device, which is really silly. They should have used a standard micro or mini USB cable. Now, when I take it, I have to take one more wire along with me. Had they thought through the user experience, they would have incorporated a standard plug that could be borrowed, shared, etc.

Other than that, so far so good!

I really like the fact that I have power if I ever get in a bind, but I wouldn't use this as an everyday car charger for iphone or any usb device simply because it is too noisy. The fan is pretty loud. However, the power outlet works like a charm and I've been able to charge my laptop perfectly whenever it runs out on the road. Happy with what I got it for. This power inverter was great for the price, less than 25 bucks but bad for noise. If your like me and the noise from the engine on an airplane puts you to sleep, then this inverter is not for you. The inverter's fan is quiet loud, not as loud as a hair dryer but close enough. I would guess-a-mate that its as loud as a laptop fan if you put your ear on it.

Purchased this set for my HTC Evo 4G as a back up charger to keep one at work, home and in the car. Received the product shipment within the promised time, quicker than I expected. However; when I went to use the car charger, it didn't work. THe LED light was lit up, but the battery did not show an active charge. When I went to try the USB data sync/charge cable, my computed didn't even recognize the connection. Nor did the phone sync or charge. I did not attempt to use the wall charger and instead contacted the seller. They replied immediately, thanked me for my purchase and apologized for my inconvenience. I was offered a full refund which was applied back to the card used as the form of payment. Product wise, I wouldn't recommend this purchase due to my poor experience, however; the immediate response, recognition of purchase and refund was handled so smoothly I would consider purchasing from this seller again.

Battery arrived very quickly. Used it to power the trolling motor for my 5-person Intex inflatable. Took it out on the bay just this one and only time, and the power ran out, leaving me anchored in the middle of the bay. Friends came out in a speed boat to rescue me.

Tried to recharge this battery, but the charger I bought from Amazon with the battery began to overheat. The next day I brought it in to the local Optima dealer. They put the battery on the charger/diagnostic machine for 69 minutes, after which it failed the test. Zero cranking amps and a recommendation to REPLACE. The Optima dealer is unable to order a replacement as this battery is no longer available from their supplier.

Amazon will not accept returns for this battery. Amazon says to return it to the dealer, but the dealer can't do anything about it. I spoke with Optima on the telephone, and they are sorry I am going through this, but since Amazon is not an authorized seller, Optima cannot help me either.

So, Amazon has my $175, and there is no customer service to reason with. I had to spend another $90 at a local warehouse store for a real, working battery with a real working warranty. I wish you all a better experience than I had. After years and years buying from Amazon, I will not be back.

You can't just take the battery to any Optima retailer for warranty service because they have their own internal corporate policies that will not allow them to warranty a battery they didn't sell. In cases like this we have to go through a distributor for testing and charging and in some case charging fees apply. This could require some travel on your part. They do require that you leave the battery at least overnight for testing and charging. If they are unable to replace the battery we would have to make arrangements to have one shipped to you.

These batteries are the best on the market. I like that they are maintenance free, especially the ones that are not easily accessible on my boat. I love Amazon because one battery was delivered dropped by the shipper, box broke. Amazon quickly sent me out another one. I just replaced the two batteries I ordered this past weekend. All worked just fine and easily cranked over my twin Honda 4 Stroke 130s. The sea trial will begin in a few weeks and if all looks good electronically, I will be confident to venture out 25 miles into the Gulf and not worry if my batteries will live or die out there. These batteries replaced my old West Marine Dual Purpose 12 volt batteries. The strength of these are twice as much as my old batteries. This gives me twice as much power and time when out there running stereo FF and GPS etc.

I would highly recommend ordering these Optima Batteries especially for rough outdoor use.

I was hesitant when buying this product. I wasn't sure if it would work but I was very pleasantly surprised, I use it alot. Every time I'm in the car , it's the first thing I reach for.

It hisses when charging and when making a phone call person receiving call hears echo of their voice.

I was somewhat disappointed but am working with it.

The product performs as advertised. The FM signal is reasonably strong and noise free even while driving in the Washington,D.C. metro area. The only drawback is a bit of an whine either coming from my car's alternator or the IMA system on my 2004 hybrid Honda Civic. Perhaps a more beefier filtering system on the unit would help? However if you crank the music up on the phone it can mostly overcome that whine. I've used this unit in other vehicles that don't have this whine so your mileage may vary.

This Audio FM Transmitter works as described. I used it for weeks and noticed little interference. Interference is expected for all type of in-car FM transmitters.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This 12 volt inverter is smaller than I possibly could have imagined. At 4x2.5x1, it's about the size of a deck of cards. It weighs only 4oz so it's almost as if it's a hollowed out piece of plastic. Impressive! Previous inverters that I've used were about the size of a brick (and weighed almost that much). I was completely surprised when I saw how small and light this was.

While it advertises 175W support, that is white lie told by the marketers. The product clearly states it can *peak* at 175W but in normal operation, it is rated for 130W. This is a small but important difference. I wish they'd just tell the truth and call it a "130W inverter" but exaggerating and advertising peak values seems to be an industry norm. An example where this little lie might get you: the charger that came with my laptop is 150W and would not work with this inverter. That said, I never bring along my huge 150W laptop power supply when traveling.

This inverter seems to have a small fan which is inaudible unless you hold the inverter up to your ear. During 20 minutes of formal testing, the inverter reached an external temperature of about 100 degrees. If I shined my thermometer inside the air vents, I was able to get readings of 108 degrees. I'm guessing that this inverter gets quite warm to the touch after extended operation. I doubt that it is any different than other products like laptop power bricks. If I notice higher temperatures in extended usage, I'll update my review.

My kill-a-watt noted that the Duracell inverter provides 115.5 volts. This is a little less than I get in my house (118 volts). The power hertz was way down from what I get in my house. At home I get 59.9hz but the inverter provided between 24 and 37hz. The faceplate says it will 120volts @ 60hz but I'm not sure if this is an issue with the kill-a-watt or the inverter. I'm not a physicist so I don't really know what applications are impacted by the difference in frequency.

My first test of the Duracell inverter was to make use of its USB port to charge my phone. There wasn't much to this testI plugged the cell phone into the USB port and it started charging. I count this as a success.

My next test was to plug in my laptop using the aforementioned 150W power supply. The laptop did not show that it was charging and the inverter's green power light started flashing. It appeared to be protecting itself from drawing too much power. Another success.

Next I plugged my laptop's 60 watt power supply into the inverter and confirmed that my laptop was now charging. The kill-a-watt showed I was drawing about 40 watts and the laptop indicated that it was plugged in. More success.

My final test was my CPAP machine. I've always wanted to be able to sleep in the car when on long trips but I have sleep apnea and require a CPAP machine. I wasn't crazy enough to plug my heated humidifier into this but I did test the CPAP and it worked fine. The machine draws 25 watts when operational so it's a fairly light load. Still, I was quite happy to see this work as this could definitely be something I use when on long drives.

Overall, I think this inverter is a steal. The small size will truly fit in your pocket and it seems to have enough capacity for almost anything reasonable that you will try to do in your car (charge a laptop). It also includes a set of clamp cables that could attach directly to a car or marine battery. This would be a great, inexpensive power solution for someone that lives in a place that sometimes loses power. Of course, you'd be very constrained on the wattage you could use so I think this would only work in the case of emergencies. But if you were an avid camper and could some how drag along a battery, this might be a handy way to plug in something like a CPAP machine when in the middle of nowhere.

The product works fine, but it fails to mention on amazon that this is 175 watts PEAK. On the device it reads 130 watts continuous, 175 watts peak. I bought this to charge my dell lattitude work laptop in my car and even with the laptop powered off it is unable to charge it. My laptop requires 150 watts so I thought I'd be covered with 175 but 130 isn't enought to get it done. I've been able to find other uses for it, and it works fine for charging camera batteries and handheld devices, but the ad is a little misleading.

Update: After re-reading the description, it does say "up to 100 watts compatability", but I still feel that should have been mentioned in the first line right next to "175". Still misleading, but I didn't read carefully enough.

This is my third inverter, and (just based on one test) this one is way, way, way quieter than my cheesy inverter from Walgreens and the cheesy (CyberPower) one from Walmart. As I understand almost all the noise is from tiny whiny fans, and the others sounded like high-pitched Dust Busters. By comparison this one was (for five minutes, at 40W) practically silent.

On the other hand, the box says it's 175 watts, but only if you hook it up directly to the car battery using the enclosed tiny jumper cables. Probably not what most people had in mind. The box says 175 watts peak power, 130 watts continuous (apparently with the jumpers), 120 watts (peak? continuous?) from the lighter socket. That's fine with me, but that's what it is.

Update: Year later, occasional use, still silent. As a 120-watt (peak?) inverter my experience is five-star. Just a truth-in-labeling issue.

It runs on the quiet side and fits nicely inside a laptop carrier or inside a car's glove compartment. It's one of the smallest devices I have owned for my electronic gadgets while traveling and performs excellently. I use it both for a small 10" notebook and to recharge my Kindle.

Although it comes with 12-volt cable clips, using them while driving would be impractical but are an added bonus at a campsite where a more powerful electronic device would need to be charged, but then make sure the car battery doesn't get depleted. The manual states a two-hour run time off a car battery while idle, but why tempt it?

I appreciate the added safety features on this small inverter. It has an electronic overload protection with automatic shutdown (the ideal range is 130-170W of combined devices), a non-user replacable 25 A fuse, low battery voltage shutdown and high-input voltage protection with automatic shutdown. Although I haven't had this happen to me yet, it also comes with an overheat protection with automatic shutdown. All these features help prevent blow-outs and destruction of electronic cigarette lighters and other outputs.

Its one weakness is the cigarette lighter plug itself. It stands about three inches long, so if your car's cigarette lighter is positioned in a tight spot, this device may be awkward or impossible to use. If your car's lighter is in the front dashboard with no obstructions, though, and you have only a laptop and iPod/iPhone to charge, this little gadget is ideal. It comes with a three-year limited warranty.

This is a car inverter. It plugs into the cigarette lighter port and gives you an electric outlet. It works fine, with two exceptions. First, sometimes it makes a very high pitched hissing noise. Originally, I thought that mine was defective, and so I exchanged it. The replacement does the same thing.

Second, it has some kind of power saving feature that makes it so that it own't turn on until something draws from it. The problem is that many power supplies today have a similar feature they won't start drawing until power is available. One such device is the power supply for the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook. As a result, if you plug the power supply for the chromebook into this device, it will never start charging the Chromebook.

There is a work-around. If you use a power splitter, you can plug in the Chromebook power supply AND some other device that pulls a draw. Once it starts, the Chromebook will start drawing as well, and then you can unplug the other device. Its a pain, but it works.
