I bought it because it's cheap. I bought it because it can sit on the dashboard of my car and charge. I bought it so I could sit by the pool and soak up free energy at the same time.

The day I bought it, it rained. It rained the next day too. I was SO disappointed. The charger did not charge.

Now that it's sunny, I can say that it does charge. SLOWWWLY. . .I'd say it takes two days with average sun. And, it must be fully charged before it can discharge to charge your device.

Been thru a handful of these and this is the first one that actually works out of the box, perfect for keeping on the dash and small enough to tuck in your bag. I supplement this with the AA charger for emergencies and it hasn't let me down yet. Don't waste your time with other ones, you'll just be throwing your money away like I did.

I was surprised how small this charger is, it's approximately 4" x 2" x 7/16" (about the size of a cell phone). It includes a variety of adapter connectors for Nokia (newer small connector), mini-USB, and Samsung. It did not include a micro-USB adapter (ie, Kindle and many cell phones) but the output connector is standard USB so you can use the cable that came with the device to charge. Very nice and excellent price at $6.49 with Prime.

Has all the bells and whistles and easy to hook up but make sure you use 4 gauge cable and a 140-150 AMP Circuit Breaker I found one at a local Custom Car install place in town for $20. You must allow a high amount of power to it but that is true with all Inverters at 1000 Watts. I like the 4 outlets and the LED read out, but the fans are loud and getting louder, which has me concerned. Another negative, the fans constantly run instead of just running when the inverter is hot. With the exception of the fans, it appears to be a well made unit.

I bought this product plus 2 Kodak AAA rechargeables for my Handspring Visor. I've only had this item for 3 months and already it has stopped working. The green light that indicates that the recharger is working--has STOPPED. Therefore it will not recharge the batteries at all. I'm stuck with a crappy product and am going to return it to the manufacturer. DO NOT BE FOOLED!! i bought this item based on the reveiws here at Amazon and apparently they were not thorough enough. Save your money and don't waste your time on this product by Kodak. Btw, Handspring also recommends that you do NOT use rechargeable batteries for the Visor Deluxes. They recommend only alkaline batteries or special rechargeable units that are sold on some obscure site. Ask them; i did and after i bought this Kodak unit i was sadly informed that Visors Deluxes should NOT use rechargeables.

Works well. Wife and I went on a camping trip and I wanted to make sure I had enough juice for my new Samsung Focus phone. Battery indicator went down to about 1/8 on the phone and the Gomadic charged it up fine. There are four indicator lights on the Gomadic indicating how much juice it has left and after charging the Samsung with about 1/8 left, the Gomadic still had two lights, so I could have gotten more juice if I had needed it. As a plus, the Gomadic has a LCD flashlight. It also allows you to pull out cable and have it fixed in place so you have some slack to use the device while it's being charged. Push a button and the extra cable is pulled right back into the device. Only downside for me was that I was hoping I could have charged it from a wall outlet, but it only gives you the option to charge the Gomadic from a USB connection. Maybe there's an adapter so I can charge from the wall if needed? Anyway, overall I'm pleased with it. Going to keep it in my backpack with me as a backup.

You need to be careful when buying a charger for your iPod. Many of the cheap ones on the market don't have any protection to keep your iPod from overcharging, heating up and burning out. And guess what, if you over charge and burn out your iPod, the warranty is void. This charger is a little more expensive than most but it won't overcharge. I bought this charger from Amazon.com 3 weeks ago. Over this time, it has been working perfectly as expected. I keep it plugged into an outlet with the iPod's cable attached and just connect the iPod whenever it needs a re-charge. My 5G iPod video, 2.5 years old, recharges from 0 to full in less than hour and a half. The charger does not have any light indicator, but the iPod will say "Charged" on its screen, once that is achieved. Monster says there is a smart device inside that will keep your iPod from overcharging.

Something that may not be obvious from the pictures this charger is really very small. It is about the same width and height as my Motorola Razr phone charger, only at least twice thinner, making it a real winner over Apple's own charger it will fit in much smaller pockets. The prongs are shifted from the center to one side and spring-loaded, so unfolding them is a snap, quite literally well, in a good way.

Obviously, a dedicated charger for an iPod is by no means necessary, as long as one remains within reach of a computer, but it is a great convenience, especially for those of us who rely on a laptop. You know your computer only charges the iPod when it's awake, right? Not to mention the times when there is no computer around a scary thought, I know...

Finally, a note for fellow comparison shoppers: the current price for this item here, ~$21, is good. You can get it from that popular internet auction site for $10 but will pay another $10 in shipping. Or, you could consider Apple's own charger, I heard it is cheaper from Apple directly, or from that same place on the web, the one that rhymes with "bay". I just liked Monster's charger much better. And do yourself a favor, stay away from those $1.50-$2 chargers you see popping up in your "iPod charger" search. How much did you pay for your iPod? Thought so...

After a very bad experience with the Griffin Powerjolt Dual Universal USB Micro Colors May Vary (that item completely fell apart when I tried to remove it from the cigarette lighter), I purchased this as a replacement.

First off, the color of this item does not really matter since you cannot see much of the color when it is installed and being used. This GTMax has yet to let me down. It charged my Razr Maxx quickly and it sits nearly flush when installed in the lighter socket.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone.. especially over the Griffin!

This is a nice unit for starting cars, as noted below. But it may be too small for some other 12-volt applications. The lighter-socket outlet will shut off if you exceed 5 amps of continuous draw, and the unit can only store a few "amp/hours" of power. If you need something for overnight use or to do much more than charging a cell phone, you might need a larger unit.

It works fine for starting cars, though. This appears to be identical to the Vector VEC010BD, which sells under the Black and Decker label. B&D has more recognition, I've seen this one (the Vector brand) at some auto supply shops, as well as here on Amazon. So you get the same product, no matter what the label or where you get it.

My neighbor had one of these, and I borrowed it several times to start my car, which was otherwise totally dead. It worked perfectly, even when the unit wasn't fully charged. So I bought my own, charged it overnight as per the instructions, three hours past the blinking green. (Note: the brief manual is very well written, and should be easy to follow.)

For some reason my car would not start right up, as it had the other times with my neighbor's jump starter. The car turned over and over, but wouldn't kick in, and the effort drew down the jump starter's cranking power completely.

The instructions tell you to wait a little when this happens, so I did. After a few minutes, I turned it back on, tried again, and the car started. I don't think it was a matter of a flooded engine, which one might suspect. Just a curious sort of process.

I recharged the Vector unit completely again, and the next time I needed to jump the car, it was instantaneous. I performed multiple jumps without needing a new charge. So, I don't know whether there is anything special about the first time, because every other time I've used it, it has been great.

If you do want it mostly for jump starts, and do not expect to need it as an "emergency power" source for long hours, or to run any kind of serious appliance, it is a fine choice.

Just like anything you have to develop a relationship to figure out what works best with any equipment you buy.

With this jump box I have figured out what works best to keep the unit charged and working well.

I am a mobile mechanic and I use this jump box frequently for work and more so for jumping my neighbors junky cars all the time.

Simply put, when the box needs charged, you press the charge LED display to see how much juice it has the plug it in overnight or for a few hours during the day.

If you treat it right it will treat you right.....for years.

Sadly after roughly ten years of service my box gave me its first major disappointment although no fault of its own....I left the negative cable loose on the box instead of wrapping it up and hooking it to its keeper post and during transport got crushed and now my negative clamp is totally busted so I can't hook it to anything so looks like I will have to replace it instead of taking it apart.

I could fix it possibly but I think I should retire the old girl.

Just a couple things I never liked bout this box.

1. The cheap LED light never did get very bright to see much plus the switch never worked well from day one...you have to thrash the switch back and forth until you find a happy spot where it actually stays on.

2. The LED charge display check button did not work too well after a couple months....you really have to mash the button down to get it to make a good enough contact to read the charge level so to fix this I just plug it in to charge every few days depending on usage.

3.if the charging clamps were not made of plastic but instead metal or beefy aluminum I think this box would outshine many other boxes and I would not be replacing this unit.

All in all this box has lasted me approximately 10 years and my only major complaint is due to my own negligence.

Advice to keep this box working well.....check the charge level and keep it charged up since it is not magic and will not maintain itself.

You can't expect to charge it then expect it to work six months later the first time you need it.....this is a working mans jump box and of you want to be prepared you have to make sure your tools are maintained.

If you are considering the Vector VEC010S you should know that you will have to recharge it regularly. The manual says, "Vector recommends that the battery is recharged at least every 60 days." If you don't maintain the charge, if you leave the unit in storage for a long period, the lead acid battery will lose its ability to accept a charge and the unit will become useless. In the introduction the manual says, "Recharge before first use, immediately after each use, and every six months if not used. Failure to do this may reduce the battery life dramatically" Nothing on the outside of the box advises you of this limitation.

The manual also says, "AC Recharge system is an automatic taper charge and be left connected to the main unit for long periods." Maybe this means you can leave it plugged into the charger indefinitely. I was unable to get clarification from the 800 number (see below).

I tried to call 800-544-6986 to find out if there was any chance that the battery could be replaced. Black and Decker transferred me to Baccus Global maker of Black and Decker and Stanley products. Their greeting noted that they no longer provide parts for any Vector branded products. The call was dropped before I was able to speak to anyone. I didn't call back.

Make sure you understand the maintenance requirements before buying this product. It's not something you can leave in the trunk or on the shelf for 12 months at a time.

I would not buy another Vector Jump-Start System or recommend this product to anyone.

This thing rides around in the back of the SUV and does a lot of bouncing around. Very tough. I originally bought it for the boat. Yes it worked for that, that was like 4 years ago. I have only charged it up like twice in all these years. It has always worked. Generally the battery level will show 2 lights. I used it like 8 mos ago for some nice old guy in a parking lot at middle school. I am happy to not have been embarrassed. I had to use it the other day for myself. Worked like a charm, and no, I never charged it up after helping the guy at middle school. Still has 2 lights on.

If you are looking to keep your celly charged up while camping I recommend finding a camping spot out of cell range. Otherwise, charge your celly off of your car. If your car dies you can use this to get car going again.

By the way, I have the older, orange version of this, with the 12vDC output/input.

First let me start out by saying that I gave this vendor an opportunity to make a wrong right, but was simply ignored, which hence is the reason for my disappointment. These mats were purchased as a birthday gift for my husband's prized Dodge Challenger. When they arrived, I just had him open them in front of me and to both our surprise, they were scuffed and had clearly been USED by someone else, who I'm guessing returned to and the company simply re-boxed them and mailed them out to us. My husband was nice about it but it really upset me that I payed for new product and got inferior product instead and was ignored after making a complaint, which caused further insult. My husband insisted that we keep the mats because he didn't want to go through the hassle BUT I am not a "happy camper" with this company at all. Got this for a Christmas present and am extremely disappointed. Two days ago I charged the battery and it indicated fully charged. Today the battery is almost dead without it being used and storing it in a warm (approx 55 degree) location. Buy something else.

This is by far the best car jumper I've ever used. We got it for our emergency preparedness and so that we wouldn't have to rely on other people to help us if we needed a jump. Worked great the first few times we used it but within the first year that we got it, it stopped holding a charge and is now completely worthless. This unit may be a good jumpstarter, I did not use any of the functions other than the 12 volt power outlet because, upon finding that this until will only supply 8 amps continuous 12 volt power, I could not run the 12 volt cooler that I wanted this unit to power. This unit may be OK if you just need a little jumpstarter and any 12 volt appliances you want to run are less than 8 amps.

This helmet has a lot of feeatures I was looking for. The bluetooth is very clear and integrates well with my GPS. It's easy to use, and my GPS linked pretty much automatically! I haven't had a chance to test ventilation and comfort factor in warm weather yet, but would definitely recommend it to anyone needing stereo headset, gps integration, cell integration or rider ro rider! I did have one small glitch I apparently had gotten an opened one from amazon. After calling and a couple hours troubleshooting with VCAN (great company) we determined the battery was not present. I returned the helmet to Amazon and in less than a week had the replacement. I really like the helmet so far. (And I have about 10 at my house)

Although Amazon claims that you can "listen to stereo music streaming from your MP3", it only has one speaker.

The helmet itself is light and quieter than my old helmet. The bluetooth works fine with my iPod and I could still hear music playing while on the highway, but only in my left ear. The helmet sizes run small. I'm used to wearing a large helmet, and the extra large Blinc is slightly snug. I would love this helmet completely if it did actually have stereo music as Amazon claims.

This helmet was basically everything I was looking for. It is basically a Hawk helmet (roughly $80) with integrated bluetooth. So for $100 you have access to media on your phone and can make and receive calls. The construction of it is very good for the price and the bluetooth is easy to set up and has decent volume. The graphics look great and the flat finish looks very nice. I ordered a size up from what I usually wear and was glad I did. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that I can't get my GPS to come from my Blackberry Curve to my helmet. Overall a great buy!
